DG834GT - Faulty Wireless??

I have just received a DG834GT which I purchased from eBay. After switching the unit on the Wireless indicator light flashes once then off. The Router config page says the wireless is enabled and the SSID is being broadcast. However I cannot view the SSID in any wireless scanners.
