Issues with maintaining internet connectivity

Hey all, Been a comcast user for a year or so, with a linksys router and had no issues, finally had to upgrade routers so we did to a WNDR3700, and then upgraded our comcast modem as well. But we've been plagued by internet problems ever since (approx 3 months). We lose internet connection more often than we maintain it, and everytime I run the NETGEAR GENIE it tells me that the router has no internet connectivity or the cord is loose. But the cord is never loose, and when I've plugged straight into the modem I do not have these issues.

The wifi network is always maintained, it's the internet that we lose constantly, and I mean constantly. In an hour we usually can only access the internet for about 30 minutes.

Been on the phone with Netgear and Comcast for hours trying to resolve this, and nothing has helped.

I'm trying to figure out if the issue is the modem or the router, or Comcast just really, really sucking.

Any help is appreciated.
