Netgear DG834Gv5 and Android

Hello,
I have a Netgear DG834Gv5, firmware V1.6.01.34 which i believe is the latest available and i am experiencing a weird issue with both my Android devices (a smartphone Samsung Galaxy Gio and a Sony Tablet S).
The issue is the same for both devices. The two devices correctly connect to the router, both correctly navigate on Internet and the local LAN... this might work from some minutes to even half an hour, then all of a sudden the connection is lost and the device won't connect anymore until i reboot the router.

My current Wireless configuration is the following:
Mode: b and g
Security: WPA-PSK+WPA2-PSK
Allow Broadcast of Name
Channel: auto

I tried other configurations too (only WPA, only WPA2, only mode g, etc) but with the same result.
I tried rebooting the devices but this won't help.
I also tried stopping and restarting only the wireless of the router but it didn't work either.
The only effective way to make the two android devices talk again with the router is to reboot the router itself, which of course is a HUGE nuisance since i have several computers connected to the Internet which should never lose their connection.

Since rebooting the android devices won't help while rebooting the router always does, i believe the problem is a firmware bug. For some reason it is like the router remembers the device it was talking to in a "blocked" state wich gets removed only on reboot.
I hoped in a firmware update but it is some time now that the firmware seems to not get updated at all. :(

Is anyone here experiencing the same issues? Did anyone find a solution?

This problem is very disappointing and it will soon force me to switch to a different router if it doesn't get resolved. As i said it is critical for me not to have to reboot the router every 5-30 minutes everytime i use my phone or my tablet.

Thank you,
Luca
