I've got an official Netgear factory refurb WNAP210 access point as I wanted to get an 802.11n access point with PoE support.
Item appears to be working perfectly and I immediately upgraded to the latest available firmware (2.1.1) and changed the default admin password.
However I notice that I am only able to select United States or Canada as my region using the drop-down menu in the admin interface.
I was planning on using this item in the UK and I believe the wireless channels overlap slightly differently in different regions.
From looking at the specs page on the Netgear UK site... http://www.netgear.co.uk/business/pr...s/WNAP210.aspx
It lists various region models at the bottom of the page but there's nowhere on the hardware itself which identifies the particular model/region.
The item has been provided with a UK power adaptor, though I'm using PoE.
I downloaded the stored config and took a look and it seems that the region/country is controlled by a parameter listed as "sysCountryRegion" and the current value is 840. Which is also the ISO 3166 numeric code for the USA.
Would it be possible to modify this value to the UK's ISO 3166 numeric code (826) then upload the changed config file?
Is there an official way to change the wireless region setting?
Through telnet or SSH instead of the HTTP interface?
Or is this model hardware-locked to a specific region?
