Hi,
I have a DGN1000 DSL modem/router which I want to use in 'modem only' / bridged mode with a separate Asus RT-N56U router.
I've followed the following instructions to put the DGN1000 into modem only mode: http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread...t=bridge+modem
I've connected the Netgear to the Asus with a standard ethernet cable running from port 1 on the Netgear to the Asus's WAN port and set the IP range on the Netgear to 192.168.1.x with 255.255.255.0 subnet mask to match the range on the Asus.
I've then entered my ISP's details on the Asus and connected via PPPoE. The Asus obtains a WAN IP address and the ISP's DNS server details, but fails to connect to the external DNS servers. I can't connect or resolve any external addresses either.
Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.
