WiDi can see my Push2TV PTV1000 but will not connect

Hi, We have been using this setup for several years, but all of a sudden my Sony laptop can find the adaptor but it will not connect. The software also freezes while trying to connect, causing me to hav to ctrl alt delete it to get out. We have tried system updates for Intel, but no luck. I can't do any updates on the adaptor because I can connect to it on the network. I read somewhere to push the "button on the side" then go to http://192.168.3.1/ to see the adaptor for updates. My unit has no "button on the side" I have run out of things to try

Fix for R6300 problems

I have found a fix for the numerous problems with the R6300. There is a cost but I think it is worth it.

The answer is to buy a TP-link TL_WR1042ND it costs a fifth of the R6300 but everything works, address reservation, port forwarding, usb storage, and the performance is fantastic. Only downside is the wireless is only 300mbs but as the only wireless devices that I connect to it are smartphones and ipods and this old laptop not a problem.

It cost me £39.99 against the R6300 which was £180.00 my regret is that I got the R6300 in the first place.

DGN2200v3 NTP server sync at -2 hours

I recently purchased a Netgear N300 Modem/Router and it's using the most recent firmware:

Hardware Version DGN2200v3
Firmware Version V1.1.00.12_1.00.12NA

The problem is the logs are showing the time to be 2 hours behind my local CST. From earlier today:

Code:

[Time synchronized with NTP server time-g.netgear.com] Wednesday, January 16,2013 04:17:24
The correct time was actually 06:17:24. I've powered the router off and back on to no avail and don't see a place to specify my time zone or change to a different NTP server.

Could someone please advise me how to get it to sync to the correct time?

TIA

FVS318v3 VPN Client Software Disconnects Frequently

I'm experiencing an issue where my clients who use VPN to log into remote workstations via RDP are being disconnected frequently and seemingly at random from a new firewall (we purchased a FVS318v3 with licenses for the Netgear ProSafe VPN Client). I've been working to correct this issue for a few days, including calling tech support. From connection to disconnection, the console report looks like this:

WNDR3700 - Block Services Upgrade

Hi there,

is there anyway to upgrade the current Router Manager so that I can place restrictions on Individual IP's

at the moment under the "Block Services"

Inside the "Services Blocking"

There are only 3 options
Never
Per Schedule
Always
If I limit my stepsons internet to 9:30pm I either need to remove internal IP's from the blocked services list or block everyone at the same time.

Which makes the Older ones unhappy or Extremely happy as they are no longer restricted.

My old old old router gave me this option and it really made things easy in a multi-aged house hold.

Which Desktop adapter to use

I have used a wired Netgear router sucessfully on this desktop.

I purchased a WNR3500L wireless router from Newegg recently.

Do I need to purchase a wireless adapter now & if so which adapter is recommended to match up best with the N300 router?

WNDR3400v2 - Problem with 2.4Ghz connections

Background
We just moved but kept our cable ISP (Charter). We have had this NG 3400v2 router since June 2012 and have not had any issues until we connected to the new cable modem at the new house. At the previous installation we used both 2.4 and 5 Ghz connections in secure mode (WPA2) without issue.

Symptoms
-Unable to establish connection to 2.4Ghz in any mode other than non-secure.
-5Ghz works fine (with WPA2)
-RF is good (used NetSpot to check SNR on 2.4 and 5)

Extremely frustrated, any ideas would be appreciated.

Can't configure wireless router

I've run into a bit of a problem with my new network and was hoping some vets could shed some light on the situation.

Here's my network setup:
I've got my cable modem hooked up to a Netgear FVS318 switch to provide wired connections for several machines. In addition to that there's a Netgear WNDR3700 wireless router hooked up to the switch via a standard ethernet cable. The cable feeds into one of the four standard ports of wireless adapter. I had been told that you're suppose to disable the DHCP Server feature on the wireless adapter so that all the wireless computers can see the wired computers that are hooked up directly to the switch.

The switch is set up to be configurable on 192.168.0.1 and the wireless on 192.168.1.1. The problem is that when everything is set up I can no longer configure the wireless router on 192.168.1.1, nothing responds when I try to go to that address on my wireless laptop. The laptop can access the Internet with no problem though. How do I access the configuration screen for the wireless router with this setup?

Many thanks for any help! :)

Adding DHCP Option 156 to a GSM7228PS?

Can anyone guide me to how to add DHCP Option 156 to a GSM7228PS? In the Web interface I see DHCP Pool Options, but when I choose Option Code 156 and Option Type ASCII, I am limited to 15 characters, which is not sufficient to enter the value that is required of our VOIP Phones of ftpservers=192.168.xx.x, country=n, language=n, laver2tagging=n, vlanid=n

Any ideas:confused:

Thanks!

No Prosafe Plus utility for Windows 8? Is this a joke?

Just been exchanging emails with Netgear and there is no working solution for using the Prosafe utility with Windows 8, and no plans for it.
So the few $ I spent on my GS108E are down the drain, or I have to hold back my migration to Windows 8...indefinitley?

And the Prosafe line is supposed to be for professionals? Is Netgear kidding? What use is a life-time warranty when the product itself is out of date in less than a year?

Unbelievable...

Hi

Have had my R6300 up a running for about three weeks now. Today I could no access the router using either 192.168.1.1 or routerlogin.net. The machine i am trying to access this from is a correctly wired connection, has internet access, can print via readyshare and see the mass storage on readshare.

Any ideas appreciated.

Can't login to router via Genie

$

While I can login to my router (WNDR4500) via my browser (Chrome and IE9), I cannot login to Router Settings via Genie on my PC (Win7). I receive a message of "Login failed. The router response timed out." I get a similar response when I try to access the NetGear Genie app via my iPad (3rd gen.): "Action timed out. Please try again.". This was not always the case. I first noticed over a month ago when I could no longer access the Network Map via Genie on my iPad.

The router is otherwise working fine, but I would like to re-establish the functionality of NetGear Genie app on my iPad--any ideas? I've tried deleting the app and re-installing, but that has not worked. I thought this problem was solely on my iPad, but only recently discovered the inability to login via the Genie app on my PC as well.

Non Operational USB ports

I'm currently on my 4th 4500 router. On the models there are USB ports one and two. I use them for a laser printer and a 500G hard drive removal disk. It seems after the initial set up and connection both ports work. In the newest router I set up the disk drive and printer using ready share. Both were operational. IE I could print from any of my wireless pc's, I could save to and edit files on the disk drive. That was all this AM. Now in the PM only one usb port is operational. USB 1. If memory serves me it was USB 2 that stayed operational on the previous router. Cann't remember on the the first two routers. Has any one out there experienced this problem? If, so how did you resolve it?
I hope I've provided enough back ground. I have dealt with the service reps via phone and email and turn to the forum with the hope of resolution.

Windows 8 driver signing

I've just purchased this and can't get the driver to install. I keep getting driver signing errors. I've gone through several methods that I've found on google for disabling driving signing requirements, and none actually work. Rebooting into advanced mode, choosing to disable it; running a couple of commands to disable it, using a third party program to disable it and attempt to sign the driver myself, nothing matters. Windows 8 refuses to see it as signed. any help?

What is going on?

While trying to figure out problems that I'm having with connections being dropped and seemingly weaker broadcast strength, I happened to look at the Administration logs and see this message repeated over and over every few minutes for at least the past three days:

[WLAN access rejected: incorrect security] from MAC address 00:15:99:a1:47:47, Thursday, January 17,2013 18:59:16

I checked the attached devices and there is nothing with that MAC address which is always the one listed.

I'm a senior citizen with only basic computer knowledge and would appreciate help identifying the problem and possible remedies. Thanks!
