I am using my D LINK NAS DNS 320 behind a Netgear DGN 1000 router. The NAS is configured to serve FTP and to sync to a DDNS service. This used to work fine for a while (or at least so I think). Recently I experience a recurring problem with my router where it drops the internet connection. I checked the logs and all I get is something like: Sat, 2000-01-01 00:01:20 - LCP down. Sat, 2000-01-01 00:01:28 - Initialize LCP. Sat, 2000-01-01 00:01:28 - LCP is allowed to come up. Then it stays there, the connection status doesn't change and it doesn't connect unless I reset the router. After a reset the connection is established successfully and it works for about 1 minute, after which it goes back to the previously mentioned state. After much trial and error I found that if I disconnect the NAS (which is plugged into the router) then this problem doesn't occur. As soon as I connect the NAS it happens again. Can you please help me debug this, as I can't understand what is causing it. I would have thought that if the NAS was causing some DoS attack protection on the router that would appear on the logs. I even disabled the DDNS on the NAS, but it didn't make any difference. How can I diagnose this further? Thanks
