Dead Stora, no LED at all

I think my Stora is DOA.
- I came home to find the fan running, no other signs of life
- No LED activity
- power button does not do anything. I need to pull the power cord to turn off
- when I power on, no LED activity
- HDD spins up on power on, then idles soon after
- No combo of reset button seems to do anything

2 requests:
1) Could someone pronounce my Stora dead, give me false hope or real hope pls
2) Seems like a decent chance the HDD and data are still sound. Suggestions on how I can recover. I bought this thing awhile ago, and have to say it served me well (although not near long enough). Would be great to be able to buy something current that I could plug this 1T SATA into.
