I installed a WNDR4500 router two days ago and everything was going fine, until today. There is a very faint ticking noise emitting from the vent slots. It can also be heard on our phone line. The sound is similar to the sound a hard drive makes when it's being accessed, only this one is a single tick repeatedly (like a watch or an alarm clock). It goes away when the power is off. The ticking sound through the phone line also goes away when the router is turned off.
I've upated the firmware to the most recent. I can access the internet just fine, there's been no issues with that. My phone line didn't have this ticking noise on it (nor did the router) until today. Changing channels doesn't make the sound go away from the router or from being heard on the phone line.
Does this sound like it needs returned or is there something I can do to fix it?
