I am simply attempting to replace my old DSL-302g ADSL modem with a Netgear N150 Modem router (with wifi).
It is simply a matter of transferring the existing ethernet cable and ADSL cable from the old modem to the new one, replacing the power supply and running the installation CD.
All appears OK until I run the installation disk. It starts to assess the connections then comes up with this message "Either the ethernet adaptor is disabled or this computer doesn't have one" . So I unplug everything, plug it all back into the old modem and here I am!!! Obviously the Modem can't detect the network adaptor??? but why not??
Any ideas please??
Thanks Barry

Hello. I was gonna make a portforwarded minecraft server for my friends and myself. I did everything that I am supposed to do. I looked at Russ2442's post, and I did the same as he did and I have the same problem. When I'm trying to check if 25565 (Minecraft's Port) is open for me, it says it ain't open. I'm sorry if I don't have any pictures and such. I have tried and tried for a whole week.. but can't find the problem, so now I'm going here to see if I can get help. I hope that I'll get a quick respond soon. :)

Hello,
I have a WNDR3700 v1 and looking for some advanced routing functions, I installed the OpenWRT firmware.
Of course it works quite nice and I solved my routing problems, but the WiFi performances dropped!
using the original Netgear fimrware, it runs rock stable at about 160 Mbps... installing OpenWRT... the speed drops to 50 Mbps.
No matter of changing channel, frequency, transmit power and so on.
why?
Any suggestion?

I have two wireless routers a DG834GT and a DG 834v3. Which one is better suited to be used as a switch on a home network?
Thanks

Hi, we've just installed a GS748Tv4 at one site to replace an unmanaged switch, and it randomly drops / rejects two devices on the network (happens once every few weeks).
One is a terminal device (others are fine) and the other is a Canon multifunction printer.
The links appear to be up, but all communication is dropped / blocked / ignored. Rebooting / powering down the devices doesn't do anything. Manually setting port speeds etc doesn't do anything. The only thing that gets the connections working again is rebooting the switch
All other traffic seems fine...?

Hello,
I've updated the firmware to 3.0.9-02 on my FVS336GV2 but I can't get any better speed than 30mb/s. My current provider is giving me 50mb/s and I can confirm this when I bypass the router. Is there any way to make the router go faster or do I need a different product?
Thanks.

Is there a plan to add Twit.tv channel in a future firmware updates? I'm surprised among all those channels that there is no Twit.tv channel app. Isn't a Twit one of the oldest internet televisions still in existence.

I'm having an odd problem and was wondering if anyone else has seen this type of behavior with a WNDR4500 router.
I have a NAS and media streamer (Sonos) each wired in to the router. My laptop connects wirelessly. If my laptop is downloading from the internet at any speed above 60Mbps, the media streamer and NAS will have severely degraded performance when communicating together (simply streaming music).
As far as I'm concerned, my wireless internet traffic should have no effect on these two wireless devices communicating with one another. It's as if the router can't keep up with the traffic. Replacing the router with an old Airport Extreme resolves this issue entirely.
I opened a case with Netgear support, but they've been absolutely no help. I'm convinced their support staff don't actually know the products and simply copy and paste cookie cutter responses.
Not that it should matter, but the Sonos device is 100Mbps while the NAS is 1000Mbps.

Um, stupid question... How does one know when their WGT624v4 router is no longer with the living?
Before I finally call its condition and mercifully buy a better router, quite possibly a better brand, I just want to know if it is in fact DOA. I just came in and noticed it wasn't lit up, period. Power supply is just fine so that leads me to believe the unit is defunct. Can't remember when I bought it so I can do the math to see if it's just the router time to pass on.
Any thoughts or things to check before I call a verdict? Thanks!

Hello..
Can anyone think of a reason why the gui interface of the DGN2200 router is very slow sometimes. Some pages take about 10 seconds to load.

Just set up a new WNDR3400 to replace a cheap and troublesome router because I've always had trouble-free operation with Netgear stuff... and I can't login to access the router settings. Using "admin" and "password" as per the manual.
When I try, it gives me the message to check that I'm connected to the router, which I am, as I'm using it to type this message. I've tried it wireless and wired.
Any ideas?

I use Netgear RangeMax Dual Band WNDR3700 as a router for my wifi. WN1000RP can't find my wifi. WN1000RP find at least 20 other networks but not mine. My computer, Iphone, Ipad and all my friends gadgets find the wifi and access it easy. What is wrong?

Hello,
Needing help with my network! I recently installed 5 wireless Foscam IP security cameras. In doing so, they ate up my bandwidth on my old WNR2000 router as its wireless speed is 300 Mbps. I read where I could chain 2 routers together and use them somewhat independent of one another so I just bought a R6300 to use as the master router. I chained them together in the following manner LAN to LAN master IP 192.168.1.1 and slave IP 192.168.1.2 and the on the master I set the DCHP on the master to 192.168.1.3-254 and turned off the DCHP on the slave. I the setup port forwarding on the slave to handle the Foscm IP cameras. All seems to work well except, when I run the software for the cameras (BlueIris), it still pulls from my bandwidth on my R6300??? Also, I can not access my cameras from the internet either like I could before. Is is because my slave router technically has no internet connected to it? And why is it that my wireless bandwidth on the R6300 is getting hit. I want the cameras to use the WNR2000's wi-fi not the R6300's.
I thank you in advance for all the help I can get here. I've been searching forums to no avail yet. Getting very tired and frustrated!!!:mad:

I've had this modem for a while and I just can't seem to map the readyshare network drive!
I've got all the settings right in windows 7 as far as I can tell, sharing and discovery is on, but still nothing. I can connect through firefox but I can't upload any files.
I'm using Kaspersky Pure 2.0 but I'm not having any trouble with any other networked devices.
Anyone have any ideas????

I am posting this issue here in the hope that someone might have some ideas that might solve my problem. I have filed a support request with NetGear but so far I have been given ansers that, quite frankly, borders on the ridicoulous .
I have a DGND4000 modem/router with firmware is V1.1.00_1.00.10 The modem is connected (wired) to a PowerLine network and a Western Digital NAS drive via the Ethernet ports (the latter connected directly, not via the PowerLine). I am also connecting client wirelessly. The clients are Windows 7, Windows 8, Phone 7 and Android v4.
This all worked as it should until I decided to expand the wireless coverage by adding a XAVN2001v2 (firmware V0.3.0.9CE) to the PowerLine network. After adding this the wireless clients that connect to the DGND4000 stops seeing any wired devices on the network (all the PowerLine lines and the NAS drive).
However, any wireless clients connecting to the XAVN2001s network works perfectly fine but the clients connecting to the DGND4000 can use Internet but nothing else. I can neither see the wired devices by name nor ping them (by IP) from a wireless client connecting to the modem itself.
I have not changed any settings on the modem between it working and not working. Wireless isolation is of course not on and I can repeat the issue as many times I want. Disconnect the XAVN2001, reboot the modem and everything works. Connect the XAVN2001 and it stops working again. This is screwing me big time and I cannot find any relevant settings on neither the modem nor the XAVN2001 that seems relevant for resolving the issue. Quite frankly it looks like a bug to me.
Please help if you can!
